Hi,

Can somebody confirm whether Telkom is doing port blocking, I'm unable to get my HTTP server to be seen on the web even with the my firewall disabled. A scan from http://scan.sygate.com/tcpscan.html indicates that no ports are open.

Checking my netstat -a, I see loads of services are listening.

What's up? By the way, two messages to [email protected] have yet to be answered on this subject. (Poor customer service!)

Thanks
Chris

HTTP should be fine. I just connected to the office web mail from home and got in almost instantly.

You will have to unblock at least port 80 on your router and point it at the IP of your web server to allow external access.

Hi,

I dont have a router based modem, just the USB one. I've got an external IP address cnedwards.no-ip.biz working with my current DHCP assigned address. I know my local port 80 is working..

Could I ask you guys to test it for me?

Has anybody got a successful residential HTTP web site running right now?

Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,

Seems to be ok, I got

Try a basic HTML page befor you use PHP.

It's coming up with a lot of information on your system which you probably should remove ASAP.

The guitar PDF loads up fine too.[:)]
