Am I correct in assuming that all you put the chip in the clip, the clip in the WII and then you're sorted? No soldering or anything else?

Yup - very clever - it clips over the drive controller IC and works with any version apparently. You solder the d2pro chip onto the clip and you clip it onto the drive controller IC...
Still lotsa soldering but nothing to the wii board...

Apparently they come presoldered as well...

hmmm... that process still looks quite hairy. Scared to open up my WII
