Reactivate expired PrePaid SIM

What happens when you phone the number you had?

Goes to voicemail, so I guess they have not yet assigned the number to a new user yet.

After 3 months it goes into what they call "dormant". Once it's "dormant" for another 3 months the number itself is recycled back into the pool because of the finite numbers available to a network.

Normally I would just go and get a new SIM, but this one had a REALLY nice number and it's a shame losing it. I cried myself to sleep last night, but I'll get over it... eventually.

If it goes to voicemail it is still assigned to "someone". Visit a Vodacom shop with your id and address and ask them to do a sim swop on that number - tell them you have lost the sim
