One hears a lot about home ownership being the key to personal wealth creation, especially from those selling property to first-time buyers, but the details of just how that works are often sketchy.

While we are patiently waiting to see if the Constitution is about to be changed, investing in any property in SA is a no-go. Just the mere changing of the Constitution will be a sign that you should not invest in or buy a property. Renting will be the best option while all properties would be open to expropriation without compensation at any given moment in time.
