RealDebrid discussion thread

I'm still using Kodi with The Crew addon. Works like a charm with Torbox. I also like this configuration because i can pick and chose the resolution and quality of the stream.
Kodi felt a little sluggish when I last used it, and I like the way Stremio works in a similar fashion to streaming sites when it comes to navigation. Can this be done with Kodi?

So with that going down too, what would be the best option to replace Stremio, Realdebrid etc?
Don’t need to replace stremio, for now just replace Real Debrid with Torbox, It cost $3 for a 1 Month sub. Hopefully RD finds a workaround.

Torbox is removing their direct stremio integration, Just use Torrentio(FREE) or Debridio($10 for the year). I have both linked on Stremio into Torbox.

I have noticed that the Torbox direct integration has been giving issues over the past few days but honestly I don’t think it come close to Torrentio or Debridio, always treated their direct api as a backup to to Torrentio and Debridio.

Stremio add-ons recommended by TorBox -

"With the sunset of the TorBox (Stremio) Addon, here's a list of recommended addons (Sourced from the community) you can replace with: (Please keep in mind, TorBox does not provide support on third party addons)

  • TorBox Search Addon via AIOStreams (Unofficial Addon. You can use it via yeb's aiostreams or midnight's aiostreams) (it's basically the same as the TorBox Addon which was deprecated, it uses the same api. It can only be accessed through a whitelisted public instance. Includes Torrents/Usenet support)
  • Meteor Addon (Nearly a 1:1 Replacement, Supports Torrents/Usenet)
  • Comet (Supports Torrents only)
  • StremThru Torz
  • Torrentio (Supports Torrents only)
  • MediaFusion

Your Media — Supported Addons

  • Your Library Addon from AIOStreams (Recommended)
  • StremThru Store (Recommended)
  • Debrid Search

What's the recommended Approach?

  • It's recommended to use a public instance of AIOStreams like yeb's instance or midnight's instance, and then add multiple addons (such as the ones suggested above, through the aio marketplace) so you'll have multiple fall overs and much better results rather than only relying on one source. AIOStreams is customizable and it can vastly improve your experience!

FAQ

Q) With the deprecation of the TorBox Addon, am I no longer able to use Stremio?

  • No, that's completely wrong. The only thing that's changing is that you can no longer use the official TorBox addon. You can use community addons instead.
Q) I selfhost things, how should I get Usenet to work in Stremio?

  • Use an addon AIOStreams with TorBox Search Addon and wrap it with your own AIOStreams or use Meteor addon.
Q) I use Kodi, what should I do for Usenet?

  • Ask your Addon dev to implement AIOStreams support (public instance)."

I have tried Stremio before, and tried Nuvio last night. They are very slow to load a stream and buffers a lot. i can watch half a episode with Kodi/The Crew before the stream sorts itself out.
Something wrong with your setup then. Kodi is much slower because it’s so bloated.

My kodi streams buffer free in seconds.
Mine too. And i can pick and choose the exact resolution and quality. For example 5.1DD, 5.1 DD+, dolby master hd etc.. etc. before pressing play. With stremio it's like rolling a dice. Then wait for 2 minutes for the stream to start and then buffer within moments.

Possibly, but i have tried Stremio on a dedicated media pc, and on 2 different steaming boxes, with the same result. My Kodi on the other hand just starts streaming within a second and then plays trough without a single hickup. Even on large 60gb Master HD 4k files.
I can skip, forward, rewind without a single second of bufering.

I used to be able to do that before RD shat the bed, now it goes through links until one works which is okay with me as things still work and quality is fine.

I feel you. I bit the bullet and got a Torbox subscription. It plays well with The Crew. I just disabled my real debrid feeds.
