My daughter had an offer for her iMac and would like to know if it is realistic.

It's a 21.5" Mid 2011 model
2.7 GHz i5
4 GB Ram
AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 Mb

The guy's offering R9 500.00

Is it a fair price?
I know very little about Mac's

Why anyone would pay that money for such low end hardware is beyond me.
I know the blah blah its a mac story but seriously.

Paying nearly 10k for such an average piece of hardware and such a small screen isn't right man. At least find a 27" model if you're going to fork over for an iMac.

So you're suggesting he buys his daughter a newer, better spec'ed iMac for her to sell to someone else?

Okay…

Woops. Misread the OP.

Sell it now! Before the offer disappears.

I agree, but I really want a 27" imac

Its so pretty !!

Spend a week with one in your possession, for general work/PC use, and you're likely to find out. This one will even handle some decent gaming with the HD6770M and 1680x1050 resolution, but I would not endorse Mac for hardcore gaming.

People need to stop seeing everything as 'specs' and focus more on the OS than specs alone. To some this is an excellent deal, especially those who use them for work. It's depreciated by 50% already and still a high quality and capable machine that looks good and feels good to use too.
