Hello everyone,

This is going to make me sound like a complete idiot, but bare with me.

Can someone please take the time to explain to me EXACTLY, STEP-BY-STEP how to get my UT Tracestar to work?

The error I get is "No USB modem found". I changed it to ethernet, and then nothing happens when I click start.

Please help, I would be really grateful. ;)

Well 1st, you use the usb connection :) ,then you need to change the IP on ur connection to the iburst modem but im not sure to what, it might still be somewhere within all these forums & that should make it work then, try either searching the forums or maybe even google ;)

Here is some info from
http://www.uttracestar.co.za/FAQ.php
------------------------
How do I set the IP address manually?

1. Win2k or Win98:
Right click network Neighbourhood (on the desktop)
WinXp:
Right click My Network Places (on the desktop) or click start->connect to->show all connections
2. Click properties
3. Right click the LAN connection that the iburst is connected to (for USB a new one has been created with iburst in the name
4. Click properties
5. Click on TCP/IP from the list
6. Click properties
7. Select static address
8. Type in 192.168.250.1 for ip address
9. Type in 255.255.255.0 for subnet mask
10. Click ok until all windows close
11. Switch off UTD, wait 5 seconds and switch back on
-------------------------

I could not get it to work with USB so I used the ethernet to set it up, after that it worked fine.

Thanks MrH. I just figured out that my LAN connection was never active lmao. After entering the IP address it suddenly connected and it works fine now.

Thanks for the expert advice to an amateur lol.

Maybe u should go read the FAQ section on the website.

Or do you mean the FAQ which Mr.H just linked and gave to him?

Anyway.. no point bickering over it after hes been helped. :p
