2 weeks and 1 day ago exactly the phone cables were stolen in our road - at 1:37 am exactly if you need to know, as I was online when it happened, but at the time thought it was a standard monthly telkom problem.
So anyhow line was fixed in record time by telkom, after 4 days wait only, as I, and I'm sure many others, have waited far longer.
The techi said it was a temp solution, but hey it was working, great.
So wednesday this week the cable guys get around to putting up the new cable, and on thursday, though slightly earlier this time, at 1:15am, the cable shoppers came back and stole the new cable - and again I was online, so I call telkom and report that a cable theft is in progress - so the telkom dude says "sorry for the inconvenience", so I say, excuse me, they are outside now, stealing the cable, don't you send out the police or a unit or something, so he asks for the address and tel number, which I give him, and he apologises again but he sees I already reported the fault 2 weeks ago, so he will escalate the repair, so I try and emphasise and tell him - but the line was fixed, they are right now taking down the new line, so once again he apologised on behalf of telkom, so I gave up on telkom.
I then called 10111 but that is another thread, so bottom line is, I have no cable, no phone line and no adsl....
