Hi folks,

These are my Celestion rear speakers for my entertainment setup. I am not sure on the model number and I am hoping somebody can point me in the direction on their model nr. I picked them up from a friend about 5 years ago or so. They work great as rear speakers.

The cool thing about these speakers is that they are wall mountable. You'll notice the feet at the bottom of the speakers. You can maneuver the foot to point in the correct direction and wall-mount the speakers and so point the speakers in the correct direction. They're very solid and will work very well wall-mounted.

Now comes the situation and I am hoping to crowdsource the solution from you fine folks.

If you look at the picture below, you'll see where I want to wall-mount the speakers. The problem is the wiring. Due to the roof height, the wiring cannot go into the roof and then down to my receiver so that option is totally out. I have one of two options.

1. Run a cable from the left speaker across the top of the enterance way to the kitchen to the right speaker and then take both cables and run them above the door (right) then downwards and then to the receiver.

2. Go wireless and find a solution whereby I can get a small battery powered transmitter attached to each speaker and receive the signals and feed those to the receiver.

I like Option 2. The astetics committee (my wife) really doesn't want to go with Option 1, but is willing to do so as a last resort.

So, what other suggestions do you have? Do you know of such transmitters/receivers?

I really hope you guys can help me out. I wanna finally get my entertainment system sorted out and this is one of the steps to do so.

Wireless is not an option. Speakers like that need more power than a little battery powered receiver can handle... Good quality 0.5mm ripcord will probably be the best and then you can paint over them.

Both speakers are in the corner, the option I would best go for is neatly glue the cables up into the ceiling across the ceiling and bring both down in one corner where your EC sits.

Once the glue is all dried, paint over it..

Placing cables horizontally is more of an eyesore than placing cables vertically.

@Quantum Theory would 0.5mm ripcord be fine for that? If that is the case, I might consider it since when painted over, can be much more discrete than standard size cable - as apposed to the complexity and power requirements of a receiver.

@Imoe would love to take that option, but I don't have access to the ceiling since it is a double volume ceiling and access is non existant - unless I rip up some roof tiles, which I don't think is a good move. :)

I was hoping for some other solution to this, so keep 'em coming. I might just be surprised. :)

Yeah, solid copper ripcord should be good enough. You also get flat 1mm monster type cable, but that will be less discreet. Keep it in the corners like mentioned above. Up to the ceiling and across in the corner between the ceiling and wall. Then down in the corner on the other side...

I'll consider your suggestion .. thanks a lot. I just hope that the cables will be discrete enough once it is done. :)
