Just wondering what you alls opinion is on this topic.

1)PVP Arena Playable = ________
2)PVP Arena Playable to 1800 rating in 3v3s = __________
3)PVP Arena Not Playable =____________
4)PVP BGs General Play (WSG/AB)=__________

Fill in the blanks with your best guess.

1)PVP Arena Playable: < 500ms (refer to 3)
2)PVP Arena Playable to 1800 rating in 3v3s: < 300ms
3)PVP Arena Not Playable: > 800ms but if you want to be reasonably competitive then < 500ms
4)PVP BGs General Play (WSG/AB): As long as you don't disconnect

Arena success is dependent on (in my order of importance):
(1) Skill (your own and your team's)
(2) Situational awareness (knowing what's happening)
(3) Communication between team members (communicating what's happening)
(4) Class knowledge and experience (anticipating what will happen)
(5) IT equipment (fps, ping etc)
(6) Gear (whether it is a "burst" season like season 6 or what will probably be a "drain" season in7)

I flux between 250 and 460 and have trouble kicking casts?
I am used to my old connection in the states @ sub 100ms.
<3 cable internet.
Thanks for the input.

Yea you get spoiled like that my friend. My cuz & I used to rock FPS like Quake 2 on international servers with 3-6k ping (yes, k = thousand) and we used to kick ass.

Then when people started to whine about their 55ms ping that usually was like 15ms we just asked them to stop blaming their ping and check OUR ping...

Anyway.... 2500ms is good enough for me to kick anyone's ass ;)

Timing of interrupts is so vital in arena i.e not stopping that chaos bolt or spotting a fake cast will loose matches.

Lets assume that the average cast is 1 second. Now allow for reaction time + latency ... therefore 500ms max but 300ms is a lot better :)

yea thats what im thinking, thus why i wanted to see a 2500 ping with a good arena team rating - doesnt happen imo.

lol, never said I was any good. just that it's acceptable to me... ****.. I play for fun guys...

1)PVP Arena Playable = +- 400
2)PVP Arena Playable to 1800 rating in 3v3s = +- 250
3)PVP Arena Not Playable = +-7 00
4)PVP BGs General Play (WSG/AB)= +- 500

For serious arena play, SAIX unshaped bandwidth and a paid for proxy service is a must.

I know at least two local guys who have broken 2300 rating, one being my brother and the other his friend who lives just round the corner from me.

Just bear in mind that they play with other players who have sub 100ms latency, which could contribute to their success.

My brother plays a pala and his friend a priest. They are both in the same 5v5 though..
