Reboot gets a reboot for 20th anniversary

The beloved '90s cartoon "Reboot" is getting a reboot.

B.C. animation studio Rainmaker Entertainment announced this week that it has renamed its TV division Mainframe Entertainment and launched development of a sequel to the first-ever fully computer-animated series.

You heard that right. Bob, Dot, Enzo, Frisket and Megabyte are coming back.

The announcement coincided with the 20th anniversary of the show's debut in -- this is going to make you feel really old -- 1994.

The original incarnation of Mainframe Entertainment, which Rainmaker acquired in 2006, was also responsible for the popular "Transformers" spinoff "Beast Wars" (BRING THAT BACK TOO).

Geeks were quick to rejoice at the news that Reboot is returning after a more than 10-year absence from the airwaves.

Was by far my favourite childhood show. Always remember how p1ssed off I would be when SABC changed their schedule for no reason or had cricket on during reboot time! Bastards!

No more original Megabyte though as Tony Jay died a while ago. I wonder though if they're even going to use any of the original voice actors or if they're going to start completely fresh. We'll have to wait and see.

Well this seems to have turned into a bust, they seem to be completely changing the format of the show and it'll include live action (child) actors.

Anyway, still have 4-ish seasons to go back to, started watching again a few nights ago and now on season 3 already. This show never gets old and still cannot get over how good and ahead of it's time it was, not for the CGI specifically but just the way it was written and put together. Has detailed story arcs that play over multiple seasons, quite adult themes and humour and really excellent voice acting (the quality picked up very well in this regard from season 3).

And probably one of the best villain duos in an animated show of all time.

Also Gillian Anderson doing the voice for her Data Nully character was an awesome thing to stumble on again

I mean what other shows aired during kids primetime had intros like this
