So my friend gave me his laptop for a bit of TLC, I decided to upgrade it from Vista to 7 via a format, he also complained that the battery life is very poor and asked me to see whats wrong with it.
So when getting the drivers for the laptop on HP's website it said that they did a battery recall back in 2011 for this model and i entered all the laptops S/N numbers and battery number in the fields and it does qualify. Now i just like to know will they still honour the recall after 3 years?
PS: If a laptop has 2 GPU's (like this model) do i have to install both the Nvidia driver and the onboard GPU driver? Its a 8400M GS and I loaded the Nvidia driver but the battery drains in like 30 min.
Thanks.
