Recent latency issues

Hey

Last week someone from DO-broadband phoned me telling me they gonna upgrade my 512 to a 4mb line for free!, i agreed as it isnt going to cost me more but since thurs ive been getting terrible latency in game and keep getting disconnected!?, has anyone else experienced any issues lately?

where will i get the best unshaped account?
 
Yea already read that, MOTHERFU@#@$!!!, after reading that i transfered my telkom line and acc to webafrica.

that is the biggest bunch of **** i have heard in a long time. WTF are they on about, do they wanna loose all their clients?. I pay for my ISP, I pay for my line, if i wanna use all 3gb playing games, etc then its my own business. Not doing anything Illegal and they advertise it ffs, you see some noob playing games in the advert on tv. They attacking gamers when they should be looking for pricks downloading kiddy porn etc. As soon as Neotel is up I will cancel with telkom. Hmm and btw they say use games.saix.net which I do for css, etc but they dont host WOW.
 
I'm on a 4mb line as well and I get horrific latency during the day (and sometimes during the night as well) - yesterday I was at 2500ms.

WTF?

and They just went and upgraded Diesel (how do you get this right?) to a 4mb line. But dont use it or they will bust you. this is exactly what happens when u put a clueless person in charge of telkom.

Telkoms sux balls :)
 
I had 512K all along, was fine with my 600-800k latency. They just foned and said a 4mb line is gonna be the same price(i assumed the prices are coming down so instead of making less money they'l give me a faster line and keep gettin the same money), Exactly the same night my line got upgraded i started gettin huge latency 4k+ and getting disconnected. Last night i logged on and had about 536ms, entered TK and soon as the first pull happened my latency went to 7.5k-9k and i get disc. relog and the same thing happens. ?

After spending about an hour trying to get hold of a techie they say my line might not support 4mb but is set to sync to 4mb!?.

if you dont mind me asking how much are you paying for your line. I find that when my regular isp (www.cybersmart.co.za) latency shoots up high, I relog onto my 1gb unshaped account (www.axxess.co.za) it is a prepaid account and lasts a year or until your 1gb is up.

I've got an axxess acc, its meant to be 4mb >.> still (after 2 months) waiting 4 either them, or telkom 2 actually upgrade it from a 384kbps line... ill let you know how my latt's doing 2nite

I agree with Barfish88... stupid noobs l2think, or say goodbye to the MMO community of SA. WTB Neotel net!

Latency of 1277ms. WTF? Barely a month ago my latency during the day was 600-700.

Can anyone with an unshaped account on 4mb give us an idea of their current latency?

There are numerous posts on the wow forums since the previous patch of high latency, though I suspect we have the added long distance and local connectivity problems.

Was really bad for me, at 3000+ over lunchtime
 
I only recently moved from a shaped Telkom 3g account to an OpenWeb unshaped 2g account this weekend. The latency improved from an average of 1200ms the past few weeks, to between 400-650ms depending on which zone I was in at the time.

It seemed consistent during the day yesterday also, as my girlfriend was home sick playing all day. ;)

Forgot to add, I play on a US server. Not sure if that makes a difference.

even 1 year ago when i was playing wow during the day the MS would be awful, I sometimes used to log off between the hours of 9 am to about 6ish in the evening, Now take into consideration that those hours are working hours??:eek:...

My conclusion is that during a week day its almost impossible to play wow becos of the stupid reason that most company's are using the line powwar!!....think about it!! how much stress does the infrastructure( telkom lines) take during the day!! how many company's here in SA using there lines?

3G last night ........ 1200ms on ave.
ADSL 384, with 1G prepaid from Webafrica .... 400 - 600ms

Patiently waiting for my 3G contract to end .....
 
ive switched over from Telskom to webafrica 512K 3G unshaped so hopefully thats gonna be the answer to my prayer, just waiting for em to activate the damn thing. Last night i was struggling with 1000-1600ms on Kaelthas:(
 
Last night 1900ms with cybersmart and 800ms with axxess unshaped.

Strange that my CSS ping has gone up to 90ms in the past week as well.
