I recently started playing World of Warcraft on the EU servers and OMG what a cool game, but the more I played it the more I came to realise that you cant go at it alone. Hence this post I am looking to start a guild or just a group of WOW South Africans to help each other level up and get a good foothold in the game. Now like I said I just started playing the game so if there is already another group or guild of Alliance that is formed and is willing to take a newbe like myself in, please let me know, other wise I am in realm Twisting Nether and my character name is Roachey just whisper me and we can hook up.

 Huh? What do you mean you cant go at it alone. I have a level 49 warrior and it is pretty easy forming a group for tough or elite quests. Rest of the time the game is very enjoyable. If all else fails, just ask people around you, most of the time they are willing to help.

granttwee if you're playing for the horde check here : www.darkrage.co.za

otherwise create a new character on dentarg and join the alliance guild I am in.

Hey granttwee,

If you're interested (it would mean having to change servers though) I have just joined a guild on Kul Tiras (EU SVR), I'm also still pretty much a newbie, but the guild is there to help guys like us level, and then we in turn will help out other newbies. Interested?

Mr Jones

Which guild on Kul Tiras have you joined?

I also have several characters on that server so I wouldn't mind joining a group of South Africans. Got mostly lower levels on that server tho, max level 8 mage atm - but I can progress quickly with a bit of team work :)

What are your character names on Kul Tiras, perhaps I can find you there on line.

Cheers

PS: perhaps you'll be interested in starting a new SA guild on Kul Tiras? Its quite a new server so pop is low but I think it will start filling up soon when people get tired of lagging on more populated realms. What level does player need to be to create a guild?

Any level to start a guild, just need the cash and signatures.

That sounds great Mr Jones just give us your guild name and character name and if you are playing tonight i will meet you there

Hey,

Sorry didn't read this forum yesterday after I posted, the name is doallant on Kul Tiras, and the guild is Prima Vista. Just whisper me, I will speak to the guild about you joining.

Cool Thanks

Hello granttwee,

Me again, go to http://www.prima-vista.co.uk join the forum, and then you will see there is a sub forum of "Want to Join". Just put your details in there and you'll be a member in no time.

Thanks MrJones, for now i have found a guild on the server i am currently using. I dont think its the best guild but I am not fond of the idea of starting a new character from scratch

Your luck in finding a guild notwithstanding...
I beg to differ. If WoW is unique in the MMO world for one thing, it is how soloable the game is. Now, paying a monthly subscription to play a MMO solo is a tad stupid. But...

With the correct class choice, it is actually quite easy to solo the game up to level 50 at least. On the alliance side it is a tossup between Hunters and Paladins which is te most braindead class to solo with. Well armored Classes that can self heal (druids/paladins/hunters) or have pets (hunters & warlocks) do well. Shadow specced priets take experience, but have such good crowd control abilities that they do really well.

Once you have chosen a robust class to play solo, then you need simply to be aware that there are at least 3 zones in the game for questing at any particular level. For example, between levels 20-30, you can quest in Ashenvale, the Wetlands or Duskwood. This knowledge allows you to pick and choose which quests to do to level up, so you can do mostly green and yellow (i.e. easy) quests, and defer the hard quests until you are capable.

You *will* need to group to de elite or dungeon quests however : join the LookingForGroup channel and join pickup groups to do elite, or dungeon quests.
