Rechargeable Light Bulbs

Thanks
Yes I wasn't sure if they are suppose to be charged. But someone replied above to use them as normal
They are all junk! The only ones that have any value are the Eurolux ones at a hefty price.

No battery can "trickle charge even when the light is off" . The el cheapos such as the light worx units do not last more than one calendar year.

Lightworx ones were R95 when I bought it. Makro had a special a while back 2 for R150.

It was mentioned somewhere in probably this thread the Lightworx ones are better than the Eurolux ones. That's why I bought it.

Bought this 10W flood light with day/night sensor from Eurolux, and the sensor part only worked for like a week, and just didn't bother to take it down again:

Had my Light Worx for about 2 years and it's in use every single day. During loadshedding it lasts 3 hours easily.

We bought a few on special at R55. Normal price is around R115. They work a treat. Power goes off, just switch the light on and off, and they burn. Last about 4-5 hours. Just rememebr the light has to be on for a while in normal use so the batteries can charge.

I've just picked up some Eurolux ones, but my Chinese one in the bathroom has been fine for a year

Anyone know if a day/night switch will turn these on and off and if they will stay on if the power goes off?

Should still work as intended,Day/night breaks the switch circuit which the light probes for before reverting to battery if circuit is complete + no power

Phillips bulbs "Brag" about having a 3 hour battery.

Are there any better/cheaper options and do they fit in jam jar fittings?

I want them for outside my house

Anyway I bought 20 bulbs yesterday, will see how they go.

Cheap china ones have a tendency to go *Pop* or become incendiary devices
yea spent around R50 to R60 each so hopefully they are good enough.
Bought them from Takealot so if they pop in the next 6 months they will be returned.

The pops are okay, it's the flaming balls of doom attached to your ceiling that gets me

Yea No bueno.

I have 3 day night switches in the yard.

When the power goes off.
Switch 1 none go on of the 6 lights.
Switch 2 one of 3 just stays on all the time, the other two only go on when there is power.
Switch 3 they all stay on all the time.

I actually tried a bulb on a spare switch I have before installing the rest and that worked fine. I'm guessing it's resistance in old cabling, different light switches or gremlins. I'll unplug them all and use them in the house I guess.
