Ok so Im now on prepaid with Voda and so far loving it. just one question, when I bought the k3520 modem I added a GB of data to it and the rep dude told me i need to take the sim out and put it in a cellphone to get a new bundle. isnt there an easier way rather than taking the sim out on a monthly basis?

something like that. new to the whole thing so not sure where i would enter that. all i got atm is the vmc lite software that was on the modem (v9.3.0.9237) and the k3520. not sure what the E number is for this one either.

Be a pain in the butt if i need to pull the sim every time i want to add another bundle

E is probably for Europe.

For the moment, try sending an SMS to 100

'MyMeg 500' will buy you a 500Mb bundle.
'MyGig 1' buys a 1 Gig bundle.

In future, you may want to try a different dashboard - in place of VMC Lite (which is cr*p).

The Huawei one is called HMC and MTN uses that as well.

Someone on the forum wrote one that works with USSD commands.

Don't forget that you also get 25Meg free for every bundle you buy (I forget the details or limits). So maybe buying a few smaller bundles would gain you more meg?

If you bank with FNB and you are registered for online banking you can go to their website and buy data online without having to take out the SIM at all.

buying loads of small bundles is gona cost you - not worth it even if you DID get 25MB free..

Yup, buy 5MB get 25MB free, works out at R0.30 per MB! :D

i just go into a vodashop tell them i want a 1gig bundle they ask for cell number and thats that.

Use the USSD system , works like a charm . I dont know where the link is to download it but I'm sure Ginggs can help .

Recharging via sms

On your VMC Lite software open vodafone sms.

1.Recharge:
Sms voucher number to 100

2.Convert money to data bundles:
Sms MYMEG 500 to the number 100

3.Check balance:
Sms BALANCE to 100
:D

You can also convert airtime to a data bundle on the vodacom4me website, under my account and then data bundles. Really simple...
