Recommend a Notebook/Laptop

Hi Guys,

Need a notebook in the 8-10K range or more if necessary.
Features should include the ability to link to future wireless internet technologies on the move and should be able to output 5.1 Sound to a set of PC Speakers. Other than those 2 features the usual USB and LAN outputs.

Looking at a price list I have there are HP and Asus Notebooks available.

Never owned a Laptop before and I wish to make an informed decision.
I think the data connection is what confuses me.
Been a ADSL Mofo :cool: for several years now has left me with little clued up knowledge of what is available which one can simply attach to the Laptop for internet access.

The Macbook looks sweet.

Just remember one thing. It has taken me a few years to teach my wife how to use MS XP. Now a Mac? Never had the liberty to work on a Mac myself so it would be a learning curve for the both of us.

Who stocks Mac's? Found a few On-Line Stores.
Price is a bit steep.

However I think I will stick with XP or maybe Vista for simplicity and the wife.
Wife's birthday on Thursday.:)
 
I bought my laptop for the Notebook Company in Pretoria. I don't know where you live, but they delivered it to me in Jhb CBD!!

Give them a call and they will most definately help you!!

There is less to learn with Macs. That often irks some techies ...:p
 
Base your decision on servicing/ availability of parts/ backup unless you don't care about downtime.
