Recommendation of a WISP

Hi Mybb

Currently in a bad situation with my current internet setup, we are on Afrihost MTN 5G and the random packet loss is causing us havoc with dropped calls and loss of internet.

We are an SME so the cost of business fibre is quite too steep but I did try this anyways but DFA does not want to install even though there is two connected buildings 300m away.

LTE/5G via MTN is unstable, Telkom is okay not stable.

So last option is Microwave, so far got coverage from two providers Tech5 and Jenny Internet as well as Speedsurf but have not heard too much of them (used the WAPA request coverage tool to get this info)

How would this do for VOIP with 5 extensions, and anyone used these companies for general internet and for VOIP in the durban area or elsewhere

Would appreciate the feedback.
 
I would get a normal MTN or Telkom sim and move the VoIP to its own LTE router, this way the data side does not affect your calls

Ask your voice provider if they can supply a voice only APN sim

Currently have this , and the experience is quite bad

You can get wireless business broadband on MTN's Tarana network, which has national coverage. We just took a service from Web Squad/Wecom and the performance is fibre-like, reach out to them

Yea the plan was to give old Carl a shout there but seems as though there is a large tree in the way so not sure that'll work. But nothing ventured nothing gained

I am covered with them , but used supersonic before and their service is very bad so would prefer to use another provider

Also to add, sometimes google maps does not put the red marker in the correct spot and shows our unit further in than it is

Tarana supports No and Near line of site, depending on the distance from BN to RN,

Where is the tower so I can check, to my knowledge we have two cell towers around us, one is up the road but not pointed at us and the other being on a hill behind the building which there is no obstructions.

You can actually see the microwave dish on Google Maps and where it is pointing too
