Recommendation on VB course

I have a mate that wants to do a VB course. He is a total noob. How would you folks recommend he goes about learning VB and what training material or college would you recommend?

Rather go C#. VB is (basically) just another syntax on the .NET Fx, but I believe more companies use C#.
