Hi all!

PROBLEM:
My current Asus Crosshair II server mobo has dual nVidia integrated NIC's on them and I think they are on their way out . Seems like I have over worked them with TB's of data...they are the GbE type.

QUESTION:
Which server grade GbE NICs would you recommend for the PCI-e interface? It must be dual port either copper or fiber which ever is within a budget of around R1500. This hooks up to a Netgear GS716T switch which has 2 FO ports - currently unused. NIC must support FreeBSD / FreeNAS.
Recommendations for e-tailers / retailer are also welcome.

Recommendations welcome!

Need to get this sorted ASAP as my Adobe CS5 stuff is on this server, apart from other things...

Your assistance is appreciated!

Pick any dual port one that suites your needs from the list in post#2

Did troubleshooting last night, using the Netgear and another cheapie router had the same result: Server was not reachable (pinged it).

Pulled the power (hard reset) on the server since the onboard NICs seems to have been frozen (both link and data lights were solid). On restart the link lights of one port was solid and the other had both lights orange - strange!

Did another hard reset and then one port began functioning normally...and strangely enough it was the port that had both link lights orange!

Am actually surprised @ the limited number of brands that offer server grade NICs as part of their product portfolio.

Back in the day there used to be a lot more choices but a lot of them seem to have faded into oblivion. Intel is a pretty sure bet though.
