Recommendations for Gaming PC

Nah I have not decided yet. Sorry for only replying now but sometimes work gets in the way :P I am not such a serious gamer, lets say about R 4000 - R 5000 without the screen card. Lets face it a decent Screen Card is about R 4000?

Also is it possible to get a board that will support a QUAD Core but for now one goes with a Dual Core E 6300 or something like that and upgrade once the QUAD Core prices come down. I am a bit out of the hardware at the moment.

A very decent card (the 8800GTS) is R3000. Most boards will support dual and quad core, there's no difference in the socket. You can get a board that specifies quad core to be safe.

Most New Mobo's run Core 2 Duo & Core 2 Quad! Gigabyte P965's can support Quad core and they cost about R1000!

IMO you can get a good PC for about R6000 pushing 7

Gigabyte P33 - Support for DDR3, Quad core and intels 45Nm CPU's
Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 - 2.2Ghz Alendale core can OC to about 3Ghz on air!
2048 DDR2 800 - DDR2 is much cheeper than 3!
8600GTS - good mid range display card, DX10 baby!
250GB HDD - 700bux for a seagate!

this setup will cost about R7000 [W/ 8600GTS] could use old HDD and get 1024MB now and another 1024 Later or if you have a PCI-E card use it and only get a new display card much later when DX10 becomes a standard!

IMO 7600GS or a X1650 is a nice PCI-e card for cheap :D because 9 Series is comming out soon and the 8 series will drop [Holding thumbs]
