Recommendations for photo & slide (35mm) scanner?

As per the heading, it's for home use. Maybe strips of negatives as well.
 
Unfortunately there are not many high-end scanners for slides and film on the market anymore. If you can still find an Epson scanner with digital ICE technology it will be worth getting. These scan transparencies twice, with the second scan done with an IR light source. The scans are then combined in a way that removes dust and scratches. I scanned a lot of slides and negatives with one of these a while back with very good results.

Most of the stuff currently on sale seems to be the very cheap units, and I have no idea how good they are. There are also the workflows that use a cellphone or DSLR for the capture, but you will need the correct post-processing software, especially for correcting the negatives.
