Recommendations: Strong School Bag

Cape Union Mart sells a school bag that is very durable. Around R800 online. My kids lasted 5+ years. Getting my son a new one after about 6 years of use for starting high school next year.

I bought my son a decent quality laptop bag (similar to the Everki Atlas) for high school. It lasted 2 years before I replaced it due to wear but the zips etc. was still good.

Kids started off with wheelie bags but then the school went digital so they opted for the classic JanSport bags. My sole remaining school goer recently switched to a school where they supplied the bag and mandated its use... the school also supplied a locker so my kid carries what's needed.

Why torture the kid? Buy him what the other kids use. The in thing used to be the Wheely bags but that faded and the last couple of years its Boomerang bags. They seem to last pretty well

OH and 25kg? You pack the kid half a lamb in his lunchbox?

And another thing. My kids and most of the other kids in school seem to prefer carrying two bags, so all the weight is not in one bag.

Also in the same boat.
Wheels seem to go first.... So looking for something with chunky wheels. The stupid school doesnt wanna go digitial (We do live in a poorer area so its probably understandable)

Looking at Boomerangs, tried and tested.. But would love something else

Ja the Boomerangs can take a beating. I always check the little fsckers tagging them along. Moering them over, pulling them on their sides. Steps up and down etc. I am like wtf.

I had one similar to these for almost my entire school career, except for sub A and sub B (grade 1 & grade 2). After I finished matric in 1980, it somehow got lost when I went away from home to do my two years' national service, July 1981 - June 1983.

My daughter school insisted on their overpriced POS school bag. After the 2nd one broke, I just bought a much cheaper longer lasting bag at Checkers. That bag lasted a few years. We replaced it at the beginning of the year with a stronger bag at Checkers.

I had one bag for high school. My parents only sponsored ductape. But then again, I was only 2 years in high school. 🤣

The rich laaities had these bags.

We had the knock off canvas backpack. There was the original and then the cheaper knock off.
Wat onder jou gat gehang het.
