Recommended bars in Jozi

Greenside has a large number of bars in a single stretch of road, so you can jettison the car and bar hop by foot :)
I first got to Jhb in the late 1970s, and I remember hearing that Greenside in Jhb was the only place that did not have any liquor licences, or at least no Pubs (restaurants I guess could still serve alcohol to diners)
Was this the case back then?

Scary - by the sounds of it I would have bumped into many of you at Picolinos, Gilrooys, Baron and probably also at Cubana, Throbbing Strawberry, Hooters (don't judge, Cheerleaders is just as bad), Buddha Ta, Molly Malone's, Outer Limits

You left out the hospice - aka, Gathering of the Clans.

Even with my age, that place makes me feel soooo young  - reminds me very much of cougar town (Brazen Head) - at least from the audience - very creepy/stalky at times

Like the Slug and Lettuce in Melville. Craft beer and regular beer. Also good pub grub.
