Hello,

To setup an email account on an iPhone 4s this morning, I used FileApp and DiskAid to copy a text file containing all the server details across to the phone.

I now need to copy info from that text file into iOS.

Which plain-text editor is recommended?

It must be able to:
1. Read text (.txt) files.
2. Not contain any adverts.
3. Preferably be able to rotate into landscape mode.

Thank you.

I use an app called TextWriter (on iPad).
It has extra navigation keys (arrows, as well as home, end, etc) on the touch keyboard so moving through the text is easier than touching where you are trying to go

If you are a Dropbox user (and if you are not, why not?) look no further than PlainText. No more "copying text file across to the phone". Just put it into the plaintext folder inside your dropbox folder on any Mac, Windows or Linux box you run and it becomes almost instantly available for editing in the PlainText app on your phone. Get home and continue working on the same file, no fuss. But yes, it has ads. For a dollar you can buy Droptext, which seems to do the same thing. But I'm a cheapskate so I haven't tested that.

@FrancTheTank I think you misunderstood me. I need an iPhone 4s app, not a desktop app.

@eehellfire Thank you, I wasn't able to find that for the iPhone 4s.

@clasqm I was considering that, but in the end, it worked out very easily. It is possible to copy directly from the txt file while viewing it inside FileApp.

As an iOS newbie, I didn't realise that copy works even inside a file that can't be edited, like a text file.

Problem solved.
