Recommended Gap Cover providers

Currently have medical aid (300% hospital cover) with Camaf and looking at potential Gap cover in the year to come. Assuming my wife can join in isolation?

Lastly any that dont have a waiting period? There is no little one in the picture just yet just planning ahead.

One thing my financial adviser told me is NEVER tell a doctor you have gap cover. Also gap cover only pays if the medical aid does pay anything towards the the line item.

For instance

Line item - R300 (Medical aid pays R200) Gap cover will pay the R100

Line item - R300 (Medical aid does not pay) Gap cover will not pay either

If you are on CAMAF (on the Vital plan I assume) you really don't need Gap Cover! I've had covered for 5 years, never used it as CAMAF covered everything each time so I eventually just cancelled it

Thanks yeah on Vital - I dont see benefit of an upgrade to double plus thats 70k a year more ill rather "self cover" that then.

Yep, the VITAL plan is superb for what you pay monthly, I've had a few bad runs couple of years and they covered each time everything almost 100% of the time, so the little I had to pay (if any) was worth it.

Thats good to hear. Cant fault Camaf had over 12 years of great cover
