Recommended Guide for Rooting a Galaxy S2

HI,

Finally found a reason to root my phone - but there are so many different guides out there to root a phone can someone recommend one? Also have read about factory reset bugs do i need to worry about that.

PS I'm a total newby at this. Really worried about bricking my phone.

The easiest method is to download the CF-Root kernel from the xda forum. Run Odin and install it from there. Your phone will reboot and you will have root.

Although it is difficult to brick the S2, there is always a chance of doing it. If you follow the instructions carefully, you should be okay

Nope. It's only installing a kernel.

You don't need to. It will install in a few seconds.

All done how do i check that it is rooted

There is no su program as described in the guide
