Reconnection fee?

We had Cool Ideas / Openserve fiber for a few years until we cancelled in March because we went overseas.

Now Cool Ideas wants a reconnection fee of R500 to get us up and running again.

If we would have been new customers there would be no reconnection fee.

Is this normal? Should we just go to Afrihost (cheaper for 50/25 R917 vs R999) ?

Yeah just go with Afrihost. Very apalling how they treat a customer who returns to them after a while. It's like a penalty for leaving them.

This is in place as some people move houses 3 times a year, or bounce between ISPs constantly and so it doesn't make sense to absorb all the connection fees each time.
