Record TV shows ?

Anyone tell me what's the simplest/ DIY way to record late night shows ?
Able to set and play with one hand and being in wheelchair.
The TV is a 10 year old LG which has a screen full of input options.
Decoder is an old 1131.
Subscription is the sports club, residential estate one with maybe 150 channels at R350 month.
