Recorder for your TV

For that price you can get a 80gb Sansui HDD dvd recorder with a removable/upgradable hdd, with a 2y gaurantee from hificorp. And the added bonus of time shift.

I'd rather go with the devil i know.

I'd sooner stick with my PVR. There's such little quality tv here that I would actually want to keep on my computer.

yea the series stuff is awesome quality

i rip the avi's to mpeg for my dvd player and the sound quality plus picture quality is just amazing :)

Way too much effort for me - I've got a mini attached to the TV - one 500gb hard drive for my series and another for my dvd collection. Instant accessibility :) My kid(s) and dvds dont mix well.

Exactly - the 350mb downloads are generally of equal or even better quality.

Downloads? Does DSTV now have their shows available for download? Cool! Where do you download them? I thought it's about time someone in SA did something like this. Things are changing. :)

Looks like DSTV beat Telkom to it.

We're talking about downloads from overseas. What locally produced shows would you waste bandwidth on?

Oh
I though you meant it's a DSTV service. :o

EDIT: I don't have DSTV so I would not know what their shows are like.

I just answered you question thats all.bwana
:)
I know - actually I think the PVR is the best thing multichoice has ever done. Being able to record something and still watch two other channels is indispensable in this house of mine.

I'd love to get one of those Sky HD-PVRs, maybe Multichoice can make a deal with BSkyB.

I have a hunch that the pvr is a copy of the sky box
the menu system and the tv guide looks the same format even the dstv guide logo in the upper right corner is the same except it says :cool: sky...

Bwana, not everyone can afford PVR and the monthly package that comes with it.
