I'm doing a project and I need to get adverts and critique them but obviously I need the adverts for this project. I was thinking there must be some sort of device that can plug into a TV and record whats currently on it?

I basically need something I can plug into a TV, then plug into my PC and pull the video files off it.

Anyone have any ideas?

lol being forced to watch ads sounds like the crappest project ever!! :p

Back on topic, tv card should do the trick. Not sure if there's anything available that automatically detects ads though, so it'll probably be a manual process whichever route you take.

Problem: I have a laptop!

If I get a USB version how will I plug it into the DSTV?

plug the tv aerial into the usb adapter
Errr... no don't do that:eek:

Find someone with a Dreambox, TIVO, etc.. or a PVR and DVD recorder. You can easily transfer the files across and edit them.

Which ads are you after. There isn't a predictable time when they go out.
