Recording HDTV on a Mac?

Yeah, it's quite simple actually, just get a flux capacitor and make sure the ends are allinged properly.

Well hammel, it depends what you want to do. Do you want it streamed, to watch while you record? Or do you just want to capture? iMove has a built-in video capturing feature which works awesomely, even for HD footage (from a camcorder, for example, over USB). Other products you can use include Pinnacle's video capture hardware for the mac (expensive, but works nice). Is this the kind of thing you had in mind?

Basically I've got some movies on my PVR that I want to get onto my Mac as I'm running out of space. Lots of threads overseas about firewire enable boxes but nothing in SA it would seem.
