THE smallest and easiest tool i've ever used to almost instantly see the folder sizes in windows is a free app called 'Scanner'
App description : "This tool uses a sunburst chart to display the usage of your hard disk or other media. The chart shows all major files and folders from all directory levels at once."
Very handy and i'd highly recommend it.

windows 7 is a pain with hibernation ... on a desktop turn it off powercfg -h off very useful especially if you have alot of ram..
