don't you just hate it when recruiters keep calling you while you are at work?

erm 99.95% of the time they are calling to find out if you have positions available in your organisation :erm:

That's odd, I find they call to ask if I know anyone interested in a certain position(s). After I tell them I'm still happy where I am.

I love recruiters, one recruiter in DBN negotiated a handsome deal for my younger accountant brother in DBN with Investec... The chap is only 21 yrs old, but grosses at above R400k per annum... What the dude to do with all that cash... If you find someone who knows what they are doing, you surely will get very far. I wonder if they have have a supervisory body keeping them in line like the estate agents, brokers, lawyers and the likes do...

I recently updated my CV on Pnet and indicated that I was not on the market, but I have been getting lots of calls and emails. I sit right next to my manager, but always walk out when I get such calls. Recruiters always call him asking if we have positions that need to be filled. The demand for .Net C# devs is massive IMO.

What I dislike is recruiters requesting my CV for "a position" and then failing to respond when I request more information on the position and the company. I believe I have a right to know where my CV gets sent to.

Because you said that I've applied already. I'm working as a vb6 developer...full time :( , so my c# skills are not really improving.
Probation ends this month, so if i can get a good deal outside and not at my company then I'll probably leave, u right if you have C# then you're in demand...can't let that go to waste. Thx

In the past they wanted 10% of your 1st years salary for permanent placement. Now it is more like 15 -20%.
Times have become tough for recruiters.

I uploaded my cv on pnet as well a few days ago. Today alone I've received 5 phone calls. At least i know im wanted :D

I hate when they ask me for my current salary. What's the point since they advertised a R???k and I "qualify" according to the requirements they put on pnet/careerjuntion?

Sometimes I feel they make up all these posts on these sites just to attract applicats. And you can't ask for more that 10% increase of your current salary.

They generally do ask if it is good time to chat..so if it's not you can arrange for an alternate time.

I know, but I usually just tag a long. :o

I agree, but I got a 48% increase when I changed jobs, no joke. At my old company I could not do all I wanted to do in terms of tech. I have been given more responsibilities, choice and room to maneuver at my current gig.
