I agree, but I got a 48% increase when I changed jobs, no joke. At my old company I could not do all I wanted to do in terms of tech. I have been given more responsibilities, choice and room to maneuver at my current gig.

It depends on how much you were earning in your previous company. If you were earning R5k per month, then you can easily ask for 100% increase, even more. But as soon as you are earning R15k+ per month, then it is a different story.

True. I meant to illustrate that at my current company I do a lot of work and deal with stuff than I used to and based on that and my skill set, hence I got such a hike. Moved from Junior at my old spot to Senior .Net dev at my new gig.
