Rectum Prices...

PCzone buy some of their stuff from Rectron, they must be getting really good prices on it as my dealer cost incl vat is the same as PCzones retail :(

On a different note, things are tough in Durban in the hardware retail market, the suppliers are either too highly priced, don't carry stock and have to get it in from JHB (adds around 2 days to the sale), or don't replace faulty hardware easily! I am the point where sometimes I buy things from certain retail stores in JHB and add a markup and it works out cheaper, lol, such is life :)

+1 for Frontosa. I use them most of the time, but do notebooks from Axiz (although those guys seem to have some dodgey pricelist as of late). I just signed up with Rectron this week after many years abscense from them. Checked the price list and was most disappointed. :P

If they're pushing Samsung so much why don't they have any Samsung HDDs on the list?

I'm sure PC Zone imports some of their stuff directly as well, maybe bypassing customs by wrapping the container up like a huge gift or something :p

Sahara good for samsung monitors as the guarantee not covered by them..

Rectron basically have increase prices to retail level if you a small guy you need volumes to get the real wholesale price

Nah, they buy from Rectron and get very good discounts because of the volume they shift.

At least service comes with if you buy from Rectron.

well Someone was thinking of butt sex when typing the thread title :)

I've been generally very happy with Rectron for years; their prices are usually on a par with Sahara's (sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less) on relatively generic items like drives, CPUs, RAM, etc. Where they shine - and why I buy from them - is their after-sales support (warranty replacements, etc.) and their free delivery.

I have to agree with you there. They even took in my first Logitech dinovo when its radio blew up even though I didn't purchase the item from them. You'd be hard pressed to find that elsewhere. That was way back when they actually had more brands. The lack of brands is what I'm disappointed in right now.

My biggest gripe with them is being out of stock; I really wish they had a way of quickly checking stock levels. I quote for a customer, and then find that they're out of stock of something - CPUs and cases being the biggest problem - and I have to supply more expensive items.

I LOL'd when I saw the thread title and then I ROFL'd when I saw who created the thread!

Agh, can't some mod just rename this thread? Seriously
