Hi

So I know the price increased for the 100MB data bundle, but one would expect CellC to at least give you the choice to continue with the recurring data bundle when the price changes.

I would like to cancel my recurring data bundle, but when they do that, they have to remove ALL data from my account (I have over 400MB atm).

Surely it's in my right to have them stop the recurring data bundle without losing any data when they increase the price, without my consent to continue it?
What's stopping them from deciding to make it R500 for 100MB and just continuing the recurring bundle??

Nothing will stop them unless you pick up the gauntlet thrown down by industry and lodge a formal complaint with WASPA, ICASA and ASA as is your rights in CPA

The WASPA code states: 15.6. Once a customer has joined a subscription service, neither the amount and frequency of the billing nor the frequency of the service may be increased without the customer’s explicit permission.

Would this include recurring data bundles?

The thing is, the price increase was announced last year. There was also an article on myBB, the increases were also mentioned on their website and I received an SMS notifying me of them.

The recurring bundle prices are the same as the once off prices. If you're afraid of getting billed an insane amount without knowing, switch to once off purchases - it's what I use.

I still didn't give them explicit permission to continue the data bundles. I did phone two days ago to cancel it, but they were going to remove all of my current data (even those unrelated to the data bundle) just to cancel it. So I need to use up everything before I can cancel it :/
