I'm looking for some feedback on using PayPal to process recurring payments for a Saas business based in South Africa. Any issues with payouts to a South African bank account?

Thanks in advance!

as far as I know, 3d secure is a card issuer feature request, and not payment gateway.

therefore if the issuer does not require 3d secure, the "start transaction" call (on enterprise integration) will not require the next step to be 3D secure. If you use redirect integration, then this will all be transparent to the developer too.

That's what I meant. The OTP is a 3D secure feature and not payfast forcing it.

:crylaugh: - I have to be on guard, seem to be the taken of a witch hunt lately.

Just an update on this.

I checked out a bunch of different payment gateways, but none of them had great support for subscription billing in the way that Stripe does. I eventually found a company in the UK, paddle.com that acts as a software reseller and also manages subscription billing. It took about a day to switch everything from Stripe to Paddle and I've been using them for the past 2 months for my saas app without any issues. They do a wire transfer to South Africa for the payouts.

There fees are a little higher than Stripe though, but they handle all invoicing for your customers as well as account support.

If anyone needs any more info on this I'd be happy to help.

Came to the forum looking for the same thing - but our customers will be local, so we would need to charge in ZAR. Payfast seem to have a good reputation locally and thats the route I was looking at until i saw your comments about Paddle. Im not a big fan of redirecting the customer away from my app to make the payment and also payfast's subscription workflow seems a little awkward at first.

@hschutte - how has paddle been working out for you and your customers?

What CMS/framework are you using (if you dont mind mentioning) and how was the integration into paddle?

How much do they charge for the payout wire transfer and are there any other "hidden fees"?
