Red eye Problem

try Gemini Sterile Eyedrops ....... they work and they don't burn like the others ;)

Yeah, I have the same problem. I sit in front of the PC all day at work and when I get home, I do the same until I get into bed. Weekends the girlfriend wants to watch movies and episodes so it's more screen/projector. My eyes are always red and I use eye drops all the time. You might consider getting some of those glare-negating glasses. I'm thinking of looking into it.

I also found that if I smoke at the PC, it really hurts my eyes.
Frequent use of Eye Drops (Eye Gene etc.) is harmful according to an Optometrist as it weakens the blood vessels. Artificial Tears are the recommended treatment as they are merely lubricants without any "chemicals".

+1 for the Cellufresh, this stuff works, is safe to use every day and is somewhat cheap. If I use it no red eyes otherwise.....

Do you drink alot or smoke weed?

+1, its probably because your using drugs :D Were you completely honest with your doctor?

OK, I'm kidding about the drugs part. My dad also has red eyes all day round, he is a workaholic and always stressed... Do you experience any headache when yours are red? What happens when you read something challenging?(Not on a screen, i.e.Academic Book?)

One more question, Are you using a CRT screen?? Last one, do you get enough sleep.

Occasionally 'eye drops' people use either over-the-counter or prescription contain preservatives, which you may be allergic to or which may irritate your eyes. Change to drops without a preservative, ask your pharmacist or dr, to make sure it's safe to change your eye drops (eg in cases such as glaucoma it is dangerous to discontinue prescription meds).

Redeyes...redeyes...didn't expect to see you again so.........spoon! :p

But seriously though, the 60hz thing is optical suicide. Somehow I think Killer knows this though, being the game whore he is. :D

If this is the case, then it's the problem. What I found is that when I'm really concentrating on a game, I stop blinking - that's what caused red eyes with me.
Try to force yourself to blink during a game (or any other PC activity).

Go to any pharma and ask for artificial tears....then put those in regularly. Ideally the artificial tears should have much of a connection to contact lenses (those dual purpose things) because those kinds usually contain too many chemicals.

cellufresh like ati said should work nicely.

If you also have issues with light sensitivity then try boost you water intake.

And lastly, make sure the room is well lit when you spend time in front of a PC....but I'm guessing you know that already.

Ok so my eyes are redish 24/7 and only safur blur sorts them out but i have heard using it everyday can make you go blind.

My doctor says my eyes are red because:

I sit on my pc alot for work
Aircon which i don't use
Sunglasses in the car which i do

Thing is my buddies do all the same stuff and their eyes are white white white.

Anyone else had this problem or can give me a solution?

Are your eyes red only or do you have associated features such as:
eye pain, temporal head pain, increased tearing, increased sensitivity to light,
visual changes, increased floaters across your eyes, halos around lights in your vision, difficulty moving the eyelids over your eyes, dandruff of the eyelashes or redness of the eyelid margins, scratchy feeling in the eyes, itchiness of the eyes, allergic features (runny nose, sneezing, seasonal change, blocked nasal airways), dry mouth?

Just watch out, as said already the preservatives in the eye drops you use may cause allergic or toxic damage to your conjuctiva or cornea - which can lead to a worsening of symptoms and mistakenly increased use of these drops.

Drops containing Sodium Chloride (salt) solution either as 0.9% or 0.45%
are the safest but as said they should be without preservative which also
means they won't keep long once opened.

Anyway there are more serious causes of red eye
http://www.merck.com/mmpe/sec09/ch098/ch098j.html
(sorry, this article is quite complex as its for professionals)
and if those are excluded less serious causes are left over,
often those need to be treated with either supplemenation
of watery tears or mucin (non-watery component of tears),
sometimes the tears are too tenacious then use of mucin
dissolving drops is beneficial. There are tests which can
be done to determine if you have a tear production problem
namely the Schirmer's test or if you have some sort of allergy.

Sometimes people also have growths on the sides of the eye
called pinguecula (single) or pterigium(s). Those are usually
very easy to spot.

Here is a nice easy article about keratoconjunctivitis sicca (which
is what often causes the symptoms you have):
