Red light green light red light

Can anyone help me with this problem?

PS2 Slimline... press the power button... Red light, then goes green, and then red again quickly.

What would cause this?

I had a problem like that with my slimline and it was where the power supply goes into the back. I took it to my buddy who fixes these machines and he sorted it out, have it checked out at a shop
