Refund on a cancelled cheque card

Makro initiated a refund on my cheque card this past Sunday, 30 October. In the meantime, I had to cancel the cheque card in question this Tuesday, 2 November.

Refund hasn't reflected in my account yet but from past experience, refunds take a few days to show. Will the cancelled card pose a problem or will the bank be smart enough to divert it to my existing account anyway?

Would appreciated any advice on this.

Normally the card is only a means of accessing the underlying account and the account number does not change when you change the card. The refund should go into your account.

I suspected this may be the case. Thanks for the feedback!

Just to follow up in case someone else comes across this post in future - I received my refund from Makro this morning and no special arrangements needed to made.
