Regional Issues :(

I hate DVD regions anyone know how to set a DVD to be a Multi-regional player? P.s. Explain it like you are explaining it to a child... yeah I'm new to this type of stuff

Any dvd works but it's not freeware.

You have a limited number of region changes AFAIK...right click your drive in device manager and there should be an option.

I don't think thats what he is looking for. He is looking for software which unlocks the drive to region free. which is a lot easier to do with a normal dvd player which you connect to the tv then with a pc dvd drive.

Install, put in disc, disc is detected and the DVD Rom region is changed (without losing/adding a counter to your alotted region changes counter thingy).

It basically turns your DVD Rom into a multi region player. Oh yeah.......AND IT'S FREE!! If you want to watch/rip a different region DVD, this is all you need.

You can try update the firmware for your drive, that has also been known to cancel out regions. The latest firmware for your drive is :

Very helpful thread. Could someone please explain the logic behind the region setting having fixed amount of changes for in the first place. I started a DVD contract at a new place and they have region 1 and 2 DVDs there. SO annoying that I can't watch DVDs with region 2 on the DVD player and have to watch it on my PC.

VLC often ignores the region but in my experience it depends on the drive you have.
