Hey guys,

I need to get a web presence up for my small business. I found Yola and its awesome free & easy for basic web design. No i'm obviously going the cheap route so iv decided to regsiter the web adress myself through .co.za.

On the application section for "nameservers" they ask for a FGDN & an IP address. Now Yola hosts my website and i would use 208.75.208.172 to point my address to the host but what is FQDN!? Stands for fully qualified domain name but i cannot find this any where from the hosting/slash design site Yola.

I know the co.za server will kick out my application if i do not fill this in so how do i go about finding the FQDN for 208.75.208.172 ? would it just be yola.com ??

thanks

You are barking up the wrong tree.

Yola.com have their own web-farm of servers, and the one you are connecting to happens to have the ip address of 208.75.208.172.

But, that is all besides the point.

My understanding is that the special software that the Yola website runs, is only run under the yola.com domain.

This means that your website can only be YOURNAME.yola.com, and you must use yola.com's facilities to create that YOURNAME part.

Hello,

Drop me a PM, I'll give you nameservers to use that will work and I can setup it on our side to direct to your Yola website.

You are going to setup a redirect to his Yola website?

Awesome!

Who is going to have administrative access to these nameservers?

We will have admin access, there is also some sort of control for the DNSZone in the client area. (edit, add A records.. MX and CAME still needs some development though).

Defintaley possible. They still do the hosting but you can redirect with your own domain http://www.yola.com/customer-suppor.../publish-to-a-domain-you-already-own/8/59/133
