I would like to know how to go about registering a company .

I am working on a startup with someone from overseas . The company is not making any money yet. I want to know how I register the company that so we can reserve a name and if it would be recommended to register or just continue without registration. Some concerns I have :
-Is it possible to register with only 2 directors ?
-I am an SA citizen but my partner has an Indian passport. Will we still be able to register?
-what documentation will be needed to register?

I will appreciate any help that anyone can offer.

You can do it yourself. Register on the CIPC website, charge your account with an advance payment, and then register the name and/or the company. This will also register your company with SARS and allocate you a company income tax number. You can even register a domain. EZPZ. The whole process can be completed in three days.

You only need one director. It's no problem registering a foreign director but you'll have to provide passport info, residential info and proof. Your letterhead and official docs must list all directors and indicate which are not SA nationals. Make sure you comply with things like PAIA, POPI, PAYE, SITE, Dept of Labour (if employees), etc.
