I saw a WZx xxx GP registration yesterday ...

The question has been asked before, but what happens when we run out - which should be very soon?

I think they start from the beginning or recycle scrapped car registrations. I'd ask the registration department next time I go renew my car license disc.

Any 3 letters plus any 3 numbers yields about 2.6 million different registration numbers?

I frightened a passenger the other day when I saw XBB 027 GP. I said "OMG, that means there're only 1 199 973 combinations left." :D

The highest license I've seen is XCM.

Any 3 letters plus any 3 numbers yields about 15.6 million different registration numbers?

There are only 20 letters that are used on (non-personalised) license plates - there's no vowels or Q. So that makes about 8 mil. combinations, if my maths is okay.

No vowels are used, which cuts you down quite a bit.....
Although doing the maths I'm getting roughly 10.6 million different combinations... hmmmmm my maths must be wrong....

Sorry, my calc bad.

Possible combinations of 20 letters into triplets is 1140.

Each of these combinations can have 000-999 added

I.e

1140 x 1000 = only 1.14 million registration numbers available?

Wait, we're doing the same thing, except you're adding the Q. I've never seen a Q on a (non-personalised) plate - I think it's probably too close to an O or an 0?

So we're both getting 8 meeelion. :)

Lol its already on YBC..

I hope they change it, I dont like my plates. Want a personalised one. Again.:)
It was suppose to change in Jan this year, but I think interest rates killed the market.
