Rehabilitation

Yes. The police can assist but it takes several family members to request the incarceration. My nephew was arrested and incarcerated at a rehabilitation clinic in Mpumalanga (Nelspruit I think). Now two years later he remains there voluntarily working there. But his circumstances were exceptional in that he was arrested for dealing drugs himself. It was a state facility that he was incarcerated into.

Yap.

A judge can give the order if you can prove he is a danger to himself or others.

On the other hand - forced rehad is usually not very successful.

Good luck! It's a bumpy ride.

Hi guys

Can you force someone to go into rehab if they don't want to?

Yes you can, but rehab is a complete waste of money unless the addict has decided to change their life. It would be more useful to burn your money, quite frankly.

Yeah - had a friend who went through rehab about 6 times, each one unsuccessful. If they're not prepared to change, it can turn out to be useless. On the other hand - some 'clean time' might just be what they need to properly reflect on their lives.

Tough situation to be in.
Best of luck OP.
