Rehobothelectronics - legit or not? ft. MSI Dominator Pro

Hi everyone

I'm currently in the market for a new gaming laptop but I'm on a budget. I came across an MSI GT72 Dominator Pro (880m, 24GB RAM version). The price is ridiculously cheap however and as such I'm a bit suspicious of the supplier.

The laptop would normally cost around R30k however it's being offered at around R14k. Supplier claims it's brand new in the box and it comes with a 12 month warranty. They do not have a website, which is not uncommon in this country. I have asked various questions to establish if they're legit or not and they do seem to be (or it's just me REALLY hoping they are.) Below are links to the ad on Locanto and to a legit site both selling the laptop:

I would go over to their shop and scout it out for myself, however it's in East London (27 Chamberlain Road, to be precise) and I'm up in Joburg - which also means I'm going to have to get it shipped up to me.

Is there any way a supplier could sell the same laptop at such a cheap price? Or is this too good to be true?

There's no chance. If you order the MSI GT72 in the US it's $2,200. As an ex-slummies resident, I can tell you there's no reputable PC shop at 27 Chamberlain Road.

1st lesson: It's 2015. Don't buy a gaming laptop with and 800 series GPU. The 970/980m is a LOT faster and runs cooler.

2nd: It's a scam.

3rd: if you can find an actual GT72, it's a beast of a machine, but IM not-so-HO a gaming laptop is not worth the money if you live in a reasonably civilised country where desktop PC components are easily available. The only reason I bought mine is because I'm living in darkest Africa and travel frequently these days. And I bought it from the US. But if you must have a laptop, the GT72 is a real monster. Big, ugly and immensely powerful.
