Rejecting evolution with science...

You think their scientists will be allowed to publish their findings in evolution based & driven scientific journals?
You kidding? Do you have any idea how well referenced and renowned work falsifying evolution would be? That journal article would become the cornerstone for a new revolution in Biology, referenced countless times over and over in paper after paper, what journal wouldn't want to be part of that?!? That is their business.

Not only that but journals can't reject work for no readily apparent reason. If the science appears sound after review by a panel (and even perhaps replication of the experimental procedures) then they can't simply reject it.

These websites are filling you with this weird idea that the scientific community is all part of some big conspiracy to keep us all in the dark and push out any contrary research. If your research has merit then they can't push you out. There is no way to push you out because it is a community, not a hierarchy, that is why it is called the scientific community, like open source.

I mean seriously you are quoting sources telling me that the chromosome 2 thing is not based on any genomic sequencing information. Heck even the Wikipedia article on this subject references the genomic sequencing evidence. Why do you read this trash?!?

The "evilutionists" are out to get them. I thought you knew about the worldwide conspiracy.

This is utter bull.

Dude if they could credibly discredit ToE scientifically then that would be a major scientific advance, like on Einstein advance level. Any Journal would jump at the opportunity to be part of that bandwagon, so please take a step back into reality on this one.

It is sad. There is this unfortunate group of layman running blogs that write some pretty hostile stuff (that also often misrepresents the state of current research) that creates this antagonistic attitude towards the scientific community in the readers like Ekstasis. That then in turn seems to foster this idea that there is some sort of conspiracy to keep anything contrary to evolutionary theories out of the scientific community. This despite the fact that the predictions and claims within evolutionary theories are constantly being tested and retested by researchers all over the globe.

Why shouldn't it be constantly tested and retested. After all the scientist that falsifies the theory of evolution would be world famous for a long long time. That article would go on to be referenced countless times. Children would learn the name of that scientist at school for goodness sake.

And yet most of them will reject the claim that there is any bias involved and that their religious beliefs have nothing to do with it. Sure.

I don't know if it is all about religion. Conspiracy theorists don't necessarily need to be driven by religion. Guys like Ekstasis have a clear distrust of the scientific community and I don't see how it is based on anything rational. Ekstasis views the scientific community as some sort of hierarchy where a scientist can be voted off the island for presenting valid science. I don't know where this view comes from. Perhaps it is a result of having never been involved in the scientific community, having never watched it work from the inside. I just don't understand where this misinformation comes from.

Unfortunately I don't think the scientific community can make what they do and how they operate any clearer to the public. We already have science personalities putting the research into easy to digest doccies and educational series to help the layman but still the distrust continues.

Perhaps better education on the fundamentals of how science operates at a school level would help people to not end up so anti-science and so scientifically illiterate.

True, but I wasn't really referring to conspiracy theorists. I was just referring to these people that accept basically all other scientific theories just fine but then have a huge vendetta against evolutionary theory.

I think good science education is definitely a must but it also starts at home and if parents are teaching their children this hogwash it's difficult for them to try and reconcile fact from fiction.

As far as I can see Ekstasis is a conspiracy theorist. He thinks the scientific community is a bunch of frauds conspiring to keep the very real science that the CRI and the Discovery Institute are producing out of the journals to try to fool everyone into thinking the theory of evolution is strong and valid when those wonderful institutions (that don't at all lie or misrepresent the current state of evolutionary theories) have already basically falsified evolutionary theories. He doesn't regard the theory of evolution as valid science, not surprising considering he doesn't know what constitutes valid science in the first place thanks to colossal ignorance of the subject.

That all of this is also supported by his stance as a biblical literalist is neither here nor there. The guy has a fundamental distrust of the scientific community and irrationally believes they are conspiring against us.

Have you even wtched the documentary "Expelled"? Before criticizing it, why don't you listen to what other practicing scientists have to say. Where their is smoke.....

Oh Odin no Ekstasis not Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed?!?!?

Stop watching this garbage man. Please I'm begging you man. Turn back while your brain is still at least partially functional. Just read the Wikipedia article on that stupid little documentary to get an idea for how utterly stupid it is.

After having watched that sort of dishonest idiocy it is no wonder you view modern evolutionary biology as being on its last legs with scientists desperately trying to protect the sinking ship in some giant conspiracy. Wake up man, read some real science please. :(

Ekstasis, can you please explain to me how you found anything in that horrible piece of trash even remotely compelling? It's a masterwork in dishonesty, idiocy and cretinism.

If you want to watch a documentary on the issue, watch this:

Ekstasis, I completely agree with Orbitals statement on this one. If you can't see how dishonest these people are you really must start asking some questions.

The problem with this is that no matter what cited, accurate, truthful references you make, or suggestions for certain people to watch, they simply won't believe it. They have far too much invested in believing the "other" side of the story, no matter how much bullschit they spew. Pointless continuing further debate when you post scientific sources with citations to actual research that are rebutted with a conspiracy video of what has been subsequently exposed to be lie after lie after lie. Pointless trying to debate with someone who believes that there is a warring faction between science and "the truth". They have created that line in the sand and have already picked a side...

Wiki is pro-evolution and therefor bias against anything that contradicts that

In the case of this video, it really is glaringly obvious when the judge released his verdict on the case.

The citizens of the Dover area were poorly served by the members of the Board who voted for the ID Policy. It is ironic that several of these individuals, who so staunchly and proudly touted their religious convictions in public, would time and again lie to cover their tracks and disguise the real purpose behind the ID Policy. With that said, we do not question that many of the leading advocates of ID have bona fide and deeply held beliefs which drive their scholarly endeavors. Nor do we controvert that ID should continue to be studied, debated, and discussed. As stated, our conclusion today is that it is unconstitutional to teach ID as an alternative to evolution in a public school science classroom.

The "other side" is saying the same thing about that side. So there's that.

The only difference being that one side has evidence, testable theories, confirmed predictions and expert scientists and the other side has preachers and hired hands.
