How reliable is ebay if i want to purchase from South Africa, Have someone here bought there before?
Please help.

Have bought a few things on eBay.

The site is fine, getting it delivered to SA is the problem.

Unless you are willing to pay silly money, it will come via SAPO which means is can take several months (1 parcel took 17 months) before you get it ... If they arrive at all.

Ebay is not the problem.

What ever you do dont select free shipping, because then you will rely on SAPO to get your package. SAPO is the problem.

As everyone said. The shipping can be an issue. SAPO is basically a lucky draw. I've sometimes received stuff within 3 weeks, some others... months.

what about using the DHL eshop app to order via ebay?
apparently they deliver a lot better via that than relying on SAPO.

I actully want to buy but i went thru delivery comments where i saw that delivery to SA is a problem cos there also they complain about that SAPO thing

Cos i usually use amazon ...en i give me stress free so i want to buy from ebay since price are less cheaper ...buy i heard lotof negativethings about this SAPO thing

Annoying problem. www.trygetit.com. Full disclosure I started the site but it's using US based travellers coming to South Africa looking to deliver Amazon/eBay packages to us here for cheaper and sometimes faster than shipping. Would love feedback too!

eBay is kind of irrelevant.

It’s every individual seller that matters.

But eBay will cover you if a seller stiffs you. More so if you make sure to pay with PayPal.

So don’t use SAPO.

Use a proper courier.
