Hi Guys

I'm currently on 200GB capped Unshaped Package with Openweb with a 20mbps VDSL line, so far I'm enjoying the speed and the Unlimited bandwidth after hours from 00:00 to 06:00.

But recently the family bought an Online TV box that can watch international news, TV shows, movies etc and some shows are HD (Luckily its not Full HD but higher quality than normal between 480p to 720p) Therefore its starts chewing up my 200GB peak bandwidth.

So can someone recommend me a 4mbps Uncapped package that offers reliable speed for daily streaming videos, browsing and emailing. I will need to schedule my downloads from midnight now and change to Openweb account whenever I need the full line speed.

Please include the AUP bandwidth limit before Throttling/Shaping starts with the packages.

Regards,

Telkom 4mbs Do Uncapped. A lot of people complain about them but I can stream youtube @ 720 almost anytime, its not going to do more that one think at a time though so its either downloading, gaming or streaming. I have been able to stream 480p on two separate devices without any buffering so their is that.
I download -/+100gig a month with out hitting the AUP cap. I don't know what it is but I think it's @ 200gig.
Only one month I hit the AUP cap but that was after I download GTA V and then had to redownload BF4 on top of the usual movies and series and youtube viewing, but I hit it 2 days before the month end so it was no big stress.
Only problem I get is at 21:00 the network gets laggy but resetting the router normally helps.

Also Hulu and Netflix steam with out problem (using a VPN unotelly).

I have also used VOX and quite like them but gaming on their service I get a lot higher ping.

HI
Thanks for the fast reply!

I'll take a look at their package.
I was thinking of Vox, but for their 4Mbps uncapped its quite expensive compared to other ISP.
And its good to know they the uncapped doesn't give you problems, because I've experienced with some ISP that throttles you like crazy and I only use like 100GB a month at that time.

I don't game online often, so the high ping doesn't really affect me much, I can just switch to the Openweb capped account.

How much is this Telkom Package? My line is with Afrihost

Why go all the way down to 4megs?

Why not downgrade to 10Megs to save cash and get a package with 300 day time GBs?

If it was me I'd do that.

Haha yeah, it sounds odd.

But the 4Mbps uncapped is for my family to use throughout the day, that's why I'm looking at a reliable uncapped that won't cause you problems. I will only switch back to Openweb if I wanna download which then will run full 20Mbps line speed.

I'm thinking of just getting Openweb 50GB capped package with unlimited download after midnight for R185

And a normal 4Mbps uncapped for around 250~350.

The current 200GB capped with R589 a month. If I use the above mentioned plan I save a bit of money, between 50~150 a month, and doesn't really affect my usage.

With cheap uncapped accounts you will be throttled. That means no streaming for the family.

Rather do my idea or put all the money together and get 1 proper uncapped business account.
